Jim Livingstone

Born in Glasgow, Jim Livingstone Studied at Aberdeen’s Gray’s School of Art from 1972 – 77.
“Over the past few years I have undertaken several painting trips to various places throughout Scotland. My paintings often begin as sketches and small brush drawings made on location. Escaping from the comfort of the studio enables me to connect more fully with the landscape. This en-plein-air approach hopefully enables me to capture some of the vitality of the sketches.”
He has exhibited widely, showing in solo and selected group exhibitions and represented at Art Fairs in Chelsea, Glasgow and London.
Awards include, Scottish Arts Council Award, Scottish Arts Council – Artist in Residence, Amsterdam and Aberdeen Artists Society – Shell Expro Prize Winner.
Jim’s work is held in public collections including Robert Gordons University, Aberdeen Art Gallery City Archive (Alphabet Suite) and Scottish Arts Council as well as in private collections
